Viren Shah will oversee initiatives such as FarmerCore, a new ecommerce program that includes online parts purchasing, dealer digital storefronts, online configurators, and other interactive tools for farmers.

AGCO Corp., a manufacturer of agriculture equipment and a company that generated $14.3 billion in sales in 2023, has a new chief digital officer.

AGCO has named Viren Shah as a senior vice president and chief digital and information officer (CDIO). He will report to CEO Eric Hansotia and oversee AGCO’s digital strategy and programs including information technology and data analytics.

Among his priorities is overseeing AGCO’s latest digital initiative: FarmerCore, a new ecommerce program that includes:

  • Online parts purchasing
  • Dealer digital storefronts
  • Online configurators
  • Other interactive tools for farmers

Before joining AGCO, Shah served as chief digital officer of GE Appliances since 2018 and worked as chief information officer at Masco Cabinetry and Specialty Fashion Group. He also held various positions at Walmart.

“Data integrity, digital tools, and a secure and strong IT infrastructure are all fundamental to helping AGCO,” Hansotia says.

As CDIO, Shah will now oversee the ongoing rollout of FarmCore. “With FarmerCore, mobile assets bring buying and servicing to the farm,” the company says.

FarmerCore launches globally this year in select North and South American dealer organizations, with continued expansion throughout 2024. “The on-farm mindset positions dealers to meet customers’ needs at every stage of the ownership journey,” AGCO says. “Smart network coverage de-emphasizes the one-size-fits-all outlet approach, moving toward a hub-and-spoke model that adds “light” retail outlets, service centers, and parts-only locations. Digital engagement gives farmers 24/7 online access to sales and support.”

FarmerCore began regionally through AgRevolution, an AGCO agricultural equipment dealer serving farmers in Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana.

AGCO designs, produces, and sells tractors, combines, foragers, hay tools, self-propelled sprayers, smart farming technologies, seeding equipment, and tillage equipment. The company’s brands include Challenger, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra.
