The newly overhauled Rochester Electronics portal has been designed “to meet the diverse needs of customers," according to the company.

Rochester Electronics announced a major overhaul to its ecommerce site in March. The Newburyport, Massachusetts-based company is a manufacturer and global distributor of semiconductors that are either obsolete or nearing the end of their product lifecycle.

What Rochester Electronics operates and sells

Rochester Electronics stocks more than 12 billion silicon die for its manufacturing. Those die are then stored in nitrogen-purged dry boxes. In addition, it oversees billions more finished devices warehoused in temperature- and humidity-controlled facilities for production needs.

Such production depth enables the company to manufacture over 70,000 device types.

And now the company also has an updated ecommerce site to sell and distribute these products.

New ecommerce features on its website

The newly overhauled portal has been designed “to meet the diverse needs of customers, ensuring a seamless and expedited purchasing process that minimizes order processing time and simplifies order management,” the company says.

New features include:

  • Updated product list uploads (bill-of-materials) for finding and quickly purchasing future and in-stock inventory.
  • Expanded product searches with enhanced filter options and alternative part recommendations for faster browsing.
  • Improved order history services which include order status, shipment tracking and downloadable invoices and packing slips.
  • Online purchases using all major credit cards and now offering payment terms for approved customers.
  • New manage account options for tracking billing, shipping, taxation, terms and in-stock notifications for out-of-stock products.
  • Faster global online customer support.

“We understand the importance of meeting our customer’s needs and constantly evolving to ensure we provide our valued customers the best possible service,” says Rochester Electronics executive vice president Colin Strother.

Rochester Electronics has over 15 billion devices in stock, according to the company. Altogether, these offerings encompass more than 200,000 part numbers.
