Through several key changes, Hasbro is promoting and hiring veteran executives experienced in digital commerce.

Hasbro Inc., a game developer and entertainment company that designs, manufactures and markets toys, games and consumer products for playing and entertainment, is going all in on digital commerce.

The company, whose brands include Play-Doh, My Little Pony and Monopoly, among others, is promoting and hiring veteran executives experienced in ecommerce.

Hasbro’s new chief digital information officer

Hasbro has hired Dan Shull as chief digital information officer. He previously served as chief technology officer at REI, where he was replaced by Guillaume Ledieu. Prior to REI, he held executive positions at Signet, Nike and Borders. In a newly created role, Shull will oversee Hasbro’s digital and information technology (IT) strategy and help to improve how Hasbro can become a platform-first digital and IT partner to entertainment and licensing counterparts, the company said.

Additional leadership changes

Other new digital executive actions include:

  • Naming Stephanie Beal as chief supply chain officer. Most recently, Beal led a systems transformation initiative to digitize planning processes across the business. Before joining Hasbro, she held leadership positions at Kimberly-Clark, Anheuser-Busch InBev and Unilever.
  • Dan Rawson taking on an expanded role overseeing ecommerce and continuing as global play lead for Dungeons & Dragons and related digital products. He currently manages D&D Beyond, Hasbro’s largest direct-to-consumer platform, with over 18 million lifetime registered users.

For its fiscal first quarter ended March 31, Hasbro, based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, recorded sales of $758.3 million. That’s a decrease of 24% from $1.001 billion in the first quarter of the prior year. Net earnings were $58.2 million compared to $85 million in the first quarter of 2023.
